Our thinking minds are very volatile and closely linked to our stormy emotions. We are also all influenced by the field of energy around us, and so if we are in a place filled with others’ fear and anxiety –like an airport during a snowstorm – we are inevitably influenced by this fearful energetic atmosphere.
Modern Westerners are very keen on logical thinking, and often believe that their intelligent thinking can solve all kinds of problems for them. But they rarely understand anything about the psychic level of our existence which can really disturb our inner peace and harmony. So as well as raising our consciousness up above the thinking level, we also
need to rise up above the turbulent, psychic layer of our existence.
As well as examining your own mind and noticing all your thoughts and feelings, if you are determined to awake this lifetime, you also need to really get to know your personality- self. Do you change when you are with different people? Do you seem to be a different person when you are with your mother, than when you are with your friends? Do you
realise that your personality-self is not that solid? We actually make ourselves up as we go along!
We can relatively easily learn to observe our conscious thoughts, but it is much harder to become aware of the more subtle layers of our programming. Must of the pre- programming in our minds – that now runs our life – is not conscious. It is buried in the subconscious layers of our mind. As you awake, you not only have to rise above your
thinking mind, you also have to clear a lot of dark thoughts and energy from your subconsciousness, and at the same time, you have to rise above the constant bombardment of other people’s negative energy fields.
Every time that you move your mind – e.g. every time you think– you create a thought form that changes you and your energy field. Most people think thousands of fearful or angry thoughts every day, and these negative thoughts then have a major impact on their energy, their emotions and their overall health and wellbeing. So in Infinite Meditation,
one of our core goals is to rise above the egoic thinking level of our mind into a much calmer more peaceful state of consciousness. When you can finally rise above the thinking level of your mind, a sense of deep inner peace is inevitable.
During our Infinite Meditations, we always take some time to focus on opening our heart centres because once our heart centre is open we can make contact with our soul.
Have you consciously contacted your soul yet? When I was in my early 30s, I vaguely noticed that I had a permanent presence, a real me, or a soul, but I did not really know my own soul.
