The Power of Appreciation
Cultivating appreciation for others and for Life Itself is an extremely powerful practice. Even if you do not believe in God, you can still cultivate the attitude that your very existence is some kind of miracle, and so you can give thanks for it. Cultivating gratitude on a daily basis will really assist you to see the glass as half full, rather than half empty. Appreciation is very closely linked to the sweetness of true love. As we cultivate gratitude, we can begin to experience a deep sense of safety, and even start to see the Life Itself is always kind and always on our side– even when we are finding our life extremely challenging.
If you have a connection to Christ, Buddha or another ascended master, you can deepen and strengthen that connection through your appreciation for their infinite support, patience and compassion.
If you have no religious beliefs, just give heartfelt thanks to your own mother and father. That will do nicely to begin with, and then, as you keep practising the spiritual art of gratitude, you can extend your thanks to all the other human beings who have given you a helping hand of some kind this lifetime.
If you just rely on your own extremely limited resources as you go through this life, you will always feel very vulnerable and alone. But if you make a loving connection to just one other person, you will instantly feel stronger and more supported. Connect to someone who has supported you in the past, or who is supporting you in some way now, give heartfelt thanks to them, and you will notice that you instantly feel stronger.
Keep using sunshine energy, gratitude and a peaceful calm mind to support every aspect of your life. Keep experimenting with all of this until you really know what works for you and then use it on a daily basis.
