Chi Flow & Major Energy Channels
Chi means energy, but energy is quite abstract compared to physical matter. Chi cannot be seen but it can definitely be felt and experienced through our physical senses. Chi flows strongly through an expert Tai Chi practitioner. But someone with a lot of energetic blockages in their system will not be able to generate much Chi flow.
Chi flow can bring harmony into your home and into your physical body. You cannot buy the good health and good fortune that is a side effect of strong, pure Chi flow!
When you are open and friendly towards someone, there will be a good Chi flow between you. But if you dislike someone or fear them, there will be no Chi flow between you. When two people quarrel, the energetic flow between them stops. Similarly, if you see the external world as threatening in some way or another, you will inevitably tense up against it and then you cannot flow naturally with the Cosmos!
To create Chi flow in your body, you have to move it. Jogging, swimming or stretching will help the body to feel more alive, but Chi flow is not physical, even though it flows through physical matter. The most effective way to cultivate internal Chi flow is to practise Tai Chi or Chi Kung. But you have to practise mindfully. You cannot just mindlessly wave your arms about and expect to cultivate Chi. Actually, doing Infinite Tai Chi or Infinite Chi Kung without cultivating at least some Chi flow is basically pointless. But some beginners may have to keep practising for quite some time before they can generate a good Chi flow in their system.
Exercising with Chi flow is very different from doing some kind of aerobic exercise that can tire you out. When you exercise with Chi flow, you gain energy rather than lose it. Cultivating Chi flow will also assist you to calm your over-busy mind. However, if you just move in a mechanical or mindless way as you practise “The Golden Sun” Infinite Chi Kung for example, your mind will not calm down. So each time you practise your Infinite Tai Chi and Infinite Chi Kung, please make sure that you breathe mindfully. You also need to consciously relax your body –particularly tense spots such as neck, shoulders and hips – or you will not generate strong Chi flow – whatever your intention may be.
